FREE AFFILIATE MARKETING CHECKLIST
Affiliate Marketing Checklist for Beginners
This checklist turns affiliate marketing into a repeatable process. Use it before launching a campaign, during your weekly review and whenever results start to stall.
1. Audience and problem
- Can you describe the audience in one sentence?
- Do you know the specific problem they want solved?
- Can you explain the desired outcome without vague promises?
- Have you collected real questions people ask about the problem?
2. Offer quality
- Does the offer genuinely match the problem?
- Have you checked pricing, refund terms and recurring charges?
- Is the sales page clear about what the buyer receives?
- Would you be comfortable recommending it to someone you know?
- Are your affiliate disclosures visible and easy to understand?
3. Content preparation
Build a small group of pages around the same topic instead of publishing unrelated articles. Start with a beginner guide, a tutorial, a comparison or alternatives page, and an FAQ. Link those pages together so readers can move naturally from learning to evaluating.
- One main topic per page.
- Descriptive page title and H1.
- Original examples or explanations.
- Clear next step for the reader.
- Internal links to related resources.
- Accurate claims with no guaranteed-income language.
4. Traffic plan
Choose channels you can sustain. SEO often takes time, while email, partnerships and social distribution can create faster feedback. The best mix is the one you can keep measuring consistently.
- Choose one primary traffic source.
- Choose one secondary source.
- Create several hooks for each useful page.
- Record the source and destination for every promotion.
5. Tracking setup
Before sending traffic, decide what success means. Record impressions, clicks, leads, sales, commission and spend. Use the free campaign tracking template so each promotion is measured in the same format.
6. Weekly review
- Which page gained the most impressions?
- Which headline earned the best click-through rate?
- Which traffic source produced the best leads?
- Which offer produced the highest earnings per click?
- What is the single weakest step in the funnel?
- What one change will you test next?
7. Monthly reset
At the end of 30 days, keep what produced useful signals and stop activities that produced neither value nor data. Do not throw away a campaign just because it is small. If it is improving, keep refining it.
For a day-by-day version, use the 30-day affiliate marketing action plan. If you are completely new to affiliate marketing, read the beginner guide first.
